Here is the FYPD draft order.
1. Chicago Cubs 2. Boston Red Sox 3. Washington Nationals 4. Seattle Mariners 5. Philadelphia Phillies 6. Baltimore Orioles 7. Miami Marlins 8. Minnesota Twins 9. San Diego Padres 10.St.Louis Cardinals 11.Detroit Tigers 12.Tampa Bay Rays 13.Cleveland Indians 14.Chicago White Sox 15.Oakland Athletics 16.Atlanta Braves 17.Pittsburgh Pirates 18.Cincinnati Reds 19.Toronto Blue Jays 20.Los Angeles Angels 21.Colorado Rockies 22.San Francisco Giants 23.New York Mets 24.Kansas City Royals 25.Texas Rangers 26.Milwaukee Brewers 27.New York Yankees 28.Arizona Diamondbacks 29.Houston Astros 30.Los Angeles Dodgers
Larry could you post the round by round draft information.
Finally, I want to propose a change to the draft times. We have several new GM's so I think it is necessary to keep their interest. 24 hour draft slots does not do it. Then we have those who take three or four days to make a decision because teams in front of them actually picked players before a 24 hour period. We want ACTIVE GM's. Not those who are going to just login on their scheduled draft day. Therefore, the proposal I make is 12 hour draft slots from the team drafting in front of you. The clock begins at 8:00 am PST January 21, 2018. The Cubs can pick at anytime before that if they so wish. Then the Red Sox, Nationals, Mariners... Starting Jan 21, 2018 8:00 am PST the twelve hour rule will be strictly enforced with no exceptions. Teams that fail to pick within the 12 hour window can pick at any time after that.
Let's get something regarding the draft posted asap so that others know we are working on this. Being that we only have two or three open teams I think we can avoid contraction if we act quickly. I would be willing to take on an open AL team to get them to being or keep them relevant. I am sure others might be willing to do the same.

I don't have or see a problem with this change. The only question I have is about time zone. We have always used est time zone, if that's changed we need to make it known before things get started.

I just thought that 8:00 am est if 5:am PST. But it is only for the very first pick on Jan 21. We can stay with EST since I couldn't remember which we used. Thanks for your input.

Looks good. EST is pretty much the standard so let's go with that.
Cubs and Mariners should be the only open teams, but we can move with the draft and I'll take an NL team if needed.

I'll manage one back to health. Cubs have $155M to work with. We can do some serious FA acquisitions with that.

I still think 12 hour time slots is a mistake. If lucky it will be done before the season starts
That is assuming everyone waits the full 12 hours all the way through. Which is not going to happen. It's a moving 12 hours from the pick in front of you. In the past we had 24 hour time slots and we had people taking three or four days to make pick. So how did we finish on time then? This is clearly an acceleration from the past. We can change the later rounds. I don't think we need 12 hours for later round picks. 2nd (8)? 3rd & 4th (6)? 5th (3)? What do we think?

It always goes fast. There are a lot of teams that pick within minutes. I’ve seen this work very well, however, we aren’t the most enhanced group.
Either way we can run with it and escalate the clock in the later rounds. Also, it would help to promote a better way of communication.

What about having 12 hours from the time of last pick? Rather than time slots. I've seen that in other leagues that worked out well. With shorter time periods for later rounds obviously.

I just looked at the league schedule I posted in Sept. I have no idea where I got this: 1st Rd 3 hrs, 2nd/3rd Rd 2 hrs, 4th/5th 1 hour. A little aggressive?
How about 1st round 12 hours, 2nd round 8 hours, 3rd/4th round 6 hrs and 5th round 3 hours. Time begins when the team before you picks or their time expires whichever comes first. 3rd/4th/5th rounds begin at 8:00am EST and end at 11:00 pm EST, however, we can draft after 11:00 pm but the next teams clock does not begin until 8:00 am the next morning.
At the extreme outside we would be done no later than beginning of March. Probably much sooner.
Since I only have a 5tf I am more than willing to have teams send their preference list to me to speed things up.

Ron, that’s probably the best way to handle this. Personally I don’t care if it runs long but we can speed it up if needed after we get started.

Happy New Years guys. I was looking at our schedule and think we should go with the FYPD schedule posted by Larry in Sept. 3 hours. 1st round. I tried posting FT and Rt for teams that haven't in case they are awol. I didn't want us getting teams that would be harder to fill. Did not get to Astros. Next week starts AL Restricted bidding.

Are we posting the players to be bid on in AL restricted bidding ?

That is supposed to begin next week. I am not guaranteeing my list but I did the best I could. If someone else could do the official posting and review of offers it would be greatly appreciated. I am going to have my hands full with the spreadsheet.
