Are open. They have one FT. Yadier Molina, 2017: $14M, 2018: $15M?

They also have:
Pedro Alvarez (30) Melvin Upton (32) Anthony Gose (26) Russell Martin (34) Jered Weaver (34) Jeff Locke (29) 2017: $3.03M Jason Grilli (40) $3M Liam Hendricks (28) Jered Hughes (31) Rafael Soriano (36)
This team is so far from winning. Do we let everyone go so this team can rebuild? Keep Locke at $3.03M? They also have $103M open cap space. I would suggest dumping Pujols and taking the $70M cap hit this year. Less his $26M salary this year this would leave them nearly $60M cap room for 2017. They also have Garza and Holland for 2017 and 2018. Dump them too? Or keep them for possibly trade bait? They are both over $10M per year. Holland is only 29. Garza 33. I am not sure either carry any real value. Dump them also and accelerate their contracts would still leave $37M cap room for 2017 and over $150M for 2018. Starting in 2018 this team could be really dangerous. If we get an owner I am sure they could trade FRod and his $6M contract for something of value to a team trying to win now.
I guess my vote for this team if we can't find an owner is a total rebuild.

Yes, buy out Pujols. Nobody will want Garza so buy him out also. Someone may want Holland but I'm OK with dumping him too. I wouldn't keep Locke either. Cubs have all 5 draft picks.
My vote is to rebuild

Dumping these guys and rebuilding will only benefit the cubs.
