I know we have the 72 hour rule. Aside from the Nats and Phillies who are owner less and we may have missed some of their drafted players, are we going to assess some sort of penalty regarding non-pickup of a player who gets re-posted? think we have discussed treating it like he was won then dropped with a 50% penalty (cap hit) I would like to post a reminder that players should be picked up on Fantrax as soon as possible after a winning bid.

I can understand the regular season but the offseason is lax you can be over the cap and over the player limit. I think we just assigns a date when everything needs to be up to date but I wouldn't bust balls and take teams players. We'll lose people like that.

I think some get upset when we don't follow our own rules or selectively enforce them. Over the cap and player limit are reflected in your roster. Players not picked up are not. So someone could be over both but it would not be obvious. Even more important is guys pouring over the waiver wire and seeing a player they are interested in and post them as a FA. Then someone tells him he is on Team A. He does his research and finds out that he was won but not picked up two weeks prior. Then you are going to hear the complaints. I hear more complaints over that then us sticking to the rules. It's really not too much to ask to keep your roster up to date. It is the courteous thing to do. Also a minimum expectation in my opinion.

I think we get through FA, and then put out a message with an ultimatum. Set it about a week before the season starts that all rosters must be updated. I'm not comfortable taking players away from teams using 72 hour rule in offseason. I think a lot of guys are keeping rosters up to date.
