I feel like as a whole this has been a pretty brutal start to the draft with not having someone to properly account for when a team is skipped, the amount of teams we have to manually pick for, etc.
I don't think we can wait until the 2nd round to implement time slots. This is my proposal: - After skipping the Marlins , we have no clock for the rest of the day. This way we can give everyone a freebie before we implement the clock. - Starting tomorrow every remaining pick will have an assigned time for when they are suppose to pick. If they can't make it on at that time, they should leave the pick with a TRP member
- I know Ron has been sifting through bids and Larry has been mostly working the draft, I think everyone else needs to define a way in which they can help out this league going forward. I have more time on my hands now than I have in over two years and I'm willing to help in any way that I possibly can. - And I think this last bullet is the most important: We need to be more clear as a whole with our rules and intentions. Usually there is a post + PM on "RFA Starts tomorrow or Starts next week: here are all the rules" or "This year's MILB Draft starts tomorrow here are all the rules:..." I think the lack of that this year really was the main source of confusion. If we can do that from here on out, that can potentially stop any misinterpretations going forward. I think as a whole we need to improve our communication not only with the league but with each other. I know everyone is busy so it makes it harder but I think we need to get our shit together or find new people for the TRP committee who are willing to put in that kind of work.
That's just my two cents. If you agree or disagree I have no issue with talking this over. I just want to see this league succeed and for a few years now I've started to get worried that we are close to the end. So let's get our shit together and make the rest of this offseason run more smoothly.

I agree. Marlins should be skipped now. Set time slots starting tomorrow at 9am est; 1 hour slots I'd personally propose we go with 2 hours for the 1st round and 1 hour for the remaining rounds. I'm open to any suggestions regarding this. This is something we need to decide on ASAP so we can alert the other league members.

Should I set up the time slots to start tomorrow?

That seems kind of fast for round one. I think we shouldn't rush threw the draft. pervious years we didn't have many issues , why did we go away from what was working

That would be awesome if you don't mind. Let me write up a post for the league news area explaining the change + apologizing and then I'll post it here before I post the thread/PM/email just so I can get approval from a few of you guys.

As long as everyone else is okay with that, I'm perfectly okay with that going forward.

Here is what I have written for the League Message/PM/Email I will be sending out. Let me know if you are okay with this. --- First off, we would like to apologize for how sluggish the draft has been so far this week. We are currently at work on making sure this doesn't happen again for the remainder of the offseason and regular season. Listed below are the changes we are implementing for the remainder of the 2015-16 Minor League Draft.
1. For the remainder of Wednesday, January 27th 2016 the clock will NOT run. We are doing this in an attempt to make sure every member of the league knows when their assigned time slot is. 2. We will be assigning time slot windows for when your pick will be on the clock. The clock will run from 9 AM EST to 11 PM EST. 3. The hours on the clock for the 1st round will be: THREE hours. The hours on the clock for the 2nd and 3rd round will be: TWO hours. The hours on the clock for the 4th and 5th round will be ONE hour. 4. If you do not think you will be able to make it onto the message board when your pick is on the clock, PLEASE leave a priority list with Larry or Myself. We ask that you put in the Subject "DO NOT OPEN UNTIL OTC"
If you have ANY questions, please don't be afraid to ask. Once again, we apologize for the inconvenience and we will do our best to make the rest of this draft run smoothly.
- Seth Guttman (Rockies GM)

Next thing we need to sort out: What teams are we going to be autopicking for going forward? Red Sox, Nationals, and Phillies?
This Orioles owner keeps logging on, so maybe we don't need to pick for them? I say we give him one turn on the clock and if he gets skipped, we pick for him for the rest of the draft.

I don't like picking at random. this way their can be no complaints.

I don't personally like using real life draft results since because of slot money, Daz Cameron fell in the draft or the opposite would be Tony Sanchez going 4th overall in 2009.

JMO. hope it works out The main purpose of us drafting for the open teams is to make sure those teams don't become so terrible that no one will want to take them. We would be drafting with the best intentions for the open teams. And to be fair, no one has ever called us out on picking for the open teams...at least that I can recall.
