I would like to begin a discussion on a new rule regarding buyouts; Basically allowing a team to buyout a player. Might sound something like this
"A GM has an option, at the time of the player drop, to elect to immediately buyout 50% of the entire contract and take the cap hit all at once, at that time, rather than spread out the cap hit over the term of the contract."
Could be time framed, say May 1st, July 1st or whatever
I think we have a fair amount of turnover and would allow new GM's to changeover rosters easier and may make the league player movement a little more fluid
I would specify that if a GM chooses a Buyout option than he doesnt get the penalty relief when the released player is signed to a new contract
Just an idea, thoughts?
