Are we allowing them one free drop? Seems like we have done so in the past.

We did it last December and before the 2013 season. I know Jared is not a big fan of it but I think it is only right. We aren't giving them preferential treatment in any other way such as additional draft picks. So one free drop for a new team is reasonable to me. After all if it makes it easier to fill our league without giving new owners some huge advantage I say we should do it.

I like to help out teams that need it and personally this team has 3 top young players and has very little salary owed longer term so I don't think it's really nessisary but this guys seems like a complainer and might leave the league other wise so whatever you guys want to do is good with me

The free drop has always been discretionary and not hard-coded into the rules. Jason and Jared have often made those decisions. I know when I joined I was give a free drop. However, Anton makes a valid point that if a team looks to be in a good situation, it doesn't make a lot of sense. At question is whether or not an unwritten rule of discretionary drop should be allowed. I'm personally not comfortable making the decision. My knee-jerk reaction is just make it all or nothing, writing it into the rules: either every new owner gets one or we just get rid of it. However, I understand the idea is to take a team crippled by a previous owner and make it less crippled to encourage a new owner to commit to rebuilding the team.
Yeah or neh? I don't think I can make that decision.
