I know Larry and Ron have been anxious all year...this is the week I think we need to tackle the Fantrax rosters. Jordan seems to have the ability to add and drop players from rosters. Lets find out what players need to be added/dropped from each team, post it in this thread, and then Jordan or someone else with the ability to add/drop on Fantrax can take care of it. We'll get it done.

Let me know. I can force trades. Are the unowned up to date on fantrax? I can also set lineups for those unowned so they at least collect stats

As far as I know Fantrax is up to date. I have not reconciled the rosters for the past 3 or 4 weeks but have been following up on those things previously identified and they have all been taken care of I believe. At this point I would say any teams currently managed that has not picked up their players as of Opening Day give up the right to them and they become FA eligible to be bid on. Yes, making sure the rosters for the unowned teams are set will make the standings more reflective of each teams relative strength. (Draft order makes sense)

I completely disagree that if someone is not owned on fantrax they should be a free agent. I know it's inconvenient for us but I think that can become a bad loophole as I mentioned before. A person signs a player to a big contract, has second thoughts, doesn't add him on fantrax, and then he gets off free. I also really don't think it's a big deal.

I see your point, however, if they don't add that player to their roster on Proboards who is going to ever know? That is where the financials are kept. We should not be responsible to review every transaction to make sure that everybody is complying. I know I don't have that kind of time, especially as active as this league is. We have that situation with the White Sox and Mike Yastrzemski. He just bid on him and finalized on Friday. If he doesn't pick him up offer him to the next highest bidder (and assess him 1/2 the original contract offer as a penalty if you don't want him to get off free). At least this only goes back a couple of days. You could be talking weeks or more in some cases. Everyone should be updating their roster on Proboards and Fantrax plus their team tab on the spreadsheet. That flows to the Salaries tab and we are able to assess cap issues and player count issues.
As far as I am concerned this is like signing and dropping the player so you get assessed 1/2 the salary as a penalty. Then re-post him and let bidding happen again or offer to the next highest bidder. (Again too much work IMO)
Then again we allow contingency bidding. So in someone's mind this may be similar. I personally can't see myself making an offer and in my mind changing my valuation of a player that much in less than a week. I can see someone doing that because of a sudden injury but that is not right either. At the very least re-post the player and do not allow said owner to re-bid. My biggest issue is the effort that it would take to police this is tremendous. Hopefully, we are not so shallow as to cheat to try to get an advantage. We need some easy way to determine who is eligible to be bid on. The easiest way is to say who is available on Fantrax. I think there are more of us who would be frustrated to have to jump through a bunch of hoops to determine a FA. Then get frustrated when someone says that they are owned. It should be clear and easy to determine a FA.

Can we try and update spreadsheets over the next few days with recent FA and trades so we can see exactly who is over cap and roster limit? I made some changes for the Nats roster today that I noticed, but we really need to check on the 3 open teams for sure, Astros, Nats, and Redsox and probably double check Mariners. I will attempt to set each of those teams lineups each day starting Monday to keep them competitive and keep it competitive so we can try and find an owner.

Red Sox should be good. Seth took care of it and checked it right after it became vacant. But we can double check.

I don't think we ever announced that Santiago Casilla was kept with a franchise tag...otherwise I think Red Sox should be updated

Anthony (Twins) looked at his lineup last night and saw that it was very outdated. He fixed it and sent an email to Jordan to see if he could take away Matt Holliday stats.
I'm scared this isn't the only outdated roster...has anyone gone through and checked?

Aug 2014 Twins traded him to the Mets. However, they never updated their Proboards or Fantrax rosters. These were the sources used to reconcile the rosters. This is the reason EVERYONE should be responsible to keep up their own spreadsheet roster, Proboards roster and Fantrax. As far as I know no one's mother is part of this league so don't depend on her or anyone else to update your rosters.

If players aren't added to Proboards & Fantrax rosters they should become free agents.

I agree with this. That's what I've fought for awhile now, and wanted all rosters updated by last night going into the season. This is going to screw up the Mets salary situation. He is a new owner and didn't know he had the expensive contract that is Matt Holliday's.
