So I traded for and dropped Kyle Lohse, I was contacted by the A's today who owns Lohse because he signed him during FA during last-season. I can't find anything staying Lohse belonged to the Yanks... He was added to my trade as a salary dump, so what to do with Lohse? go the FA pool, stay on the A's. If he goes to FA pool are the A's on the hook for his contract after he FT him, or does he stay with the A's and I get back the money I'm responsible for, for releasing him. Hope that sounds right, I'm doing this at work by phone.

He is on the A's roster on Fantrax. That has been used as the standard. If history on Proboards that he was picked up by the A's then all trades involving him should be reversed since the Yankees never owned him. The only contract that comes into play is the terms the A's used to pick him up. Since the trade should never have happened you should not be responsible for 1/2 his salary. But you also need to give back whatever you received in that trade to the Yankees.

Id say keep the penalty then and let's just move on. This offseason has been a mess and if we don't start doing better the league will fold.

We can't reverse it bc I think we've taken enough hits and any more mess ups and we could loose more people. We could do it quietly but still this is tough
