Giants trade:
Matt Holliday $17M 2014-2016, C/O $17M 2017 Anthony Renaudo (prospect)
Red Sox trade:
Felix Hernandez $20M 2014 Josh Willingham $6.8M 2014 Jose Bautista $14M 2014-2016 Red Sox 2nd rd FYPD 2014 (gentleman's agreement)
I obviously like Felix a lot. I can RT him next year for draft picks. or FT him and take on his long term contract which is the most likely scenario. I hate to give up Renaudo, he is my best prospect but to be able to get Felix I feel it is worth it. Willingham was a way to help Shane free up some cap room. He is on an expiring contract so it helps for next year.

This seems to be a bit much for a cap dump

I think is the classic I would not make this trade if I were the Sox, but I see no reason to veto it either.

This Red Sox owner worries me. The owners who come right in, say everyone is available, is desperate to make trades just to make trades barely last. Look at the Braves from last year...we let him make 20 trades in a day or so and he bailed on us shortly after.
This trade is awful...you don't make a salary dump with 2 of the top 25 best players in baseball without getting good value in return...and give up a 2nd round pick.
Easy veto.

Can we try to get this decision asap...Giants just traded Willingham away and that'd effect not only this trade but that one as well.

And now Matt Holliday got traded again...we need to act quick. Is 4 vetos enough to veto the trade and void the others? I forgot how many voters we have.

I didn't like the trade offer either. Red Sox could do better. However, instead of ditching Shane, explain to him why TRP is especially cautious about new owners coming in and wrecking a team. I'd say give him a little more of a chance, but be firm and lay down the law also.

They just redid the trade and added in 2 shitty draft picks and a relief pitcher...I don't have any faith that this guy is going to stop making bad deals

I vote pass on the new trade if we are keeping Shane in the league. He obviously wants to clear the cap so if hes kept let him. Once again I vote Pass

I personally can't stand that this guy is questioning the integrity of the TRP, acting like we have no better thing to do with our time than to "screw him over" but...I'll pass too.
He won't be any different than any of those other loser owners who trade everyone away, screw the team over, and then leave the league in a month...but...knock yourself out kid.

The new deal isn't great, bug he clearly wants to drop cap. Holliday and Bautista are close to even. It's not great but it's much better I think. The 2 picks are obviously wild cards and Renaudo is a high upside, high risk SP. Idk. I'm leaning towards pushing it thru.

I'd like to see the Red Sox get more out of the deal; they are still not getting what they deserve. I'll reluctantly say it should be passed though. Blugh.
