Look, I get it....this trade isn't the worst one he's offered but I have no confidence in this guy. He's traded away almost every single talented player on his roster, a roster that made the playoffs last year, and just by looking at the prospects he's taking on here...the fact that he says he's "rebuilding" worries the living crap out of me.
It's obvious that this guy isn't very smart when it comes to baseball and if anything, I want to make a decision to kick him out ASAP before this team gets ruined. This is not the guy I want to see go out and "rebuild"...he will turn this team into the most unattractive team in the league just like the Royals used to be before we got Jason.
Whether you vote to veto this trade or not, I'm just warning all of you in the TRP one more time...don't let this guy stay. He's been nothing but a headache to us...I like that the kid is active and he's trying to the best of his abilities...but this league is not for him.
I vote veto to the trade and to kick him out of the league.

I'm on the fence regarding whether the trade should be vetoed. I'll wait for others' thoughts. Stilson (with one "s") may turn into a decent bullpen guy, and I suppose Anderson has potential. Light and Matzek I'm not so sure about. Is it a good enough haul? That's where I'm on the fence.
As for kicking him out, I'm not sure it sets the best precedent, even if he's not the most baseball-knowledgeable. It seems a bit elitist to just say "we don't like your trades; get out." I understand the frustration after some thoroughly ugly trade offers, however.

I understand that it may not look the best on our part but just coming from past experiences, we've had owners who weren't too bright come in, trade just to trade, wreck their team, and then ditch us. They left us behind a very hard team to sell, and I'm not trying to have that again. This Red Sox team was a playoff team last year...a few more trades like this and there won't be ANY talent left on the team.

I say just let him rebuild and see what happens. If anything making the Twins a stronger team is a good thing and if the Sox is here for the long term then he has no other real pieces to sell off besides Corbin

Do we allow 2015 picks to be traded. Trade will have to be done either way. I'm also not so sure I won't pass it. Phillips contract is bad. Lots of years and money as he's deining. There's a reason reds want to deal him and have no takers. Holiday is wrong side of 30 and similar situation. I wouldn't take either contract. I'll pass it.
And what's remarkable is I've tried to get Cobb and he wants to much. Why won't he take my players? Lol. But in all seriousness I agree with Shawn. Sets a bad precedent, the de isn't that bad in all honesty. Let's see what he can do with a ton Of cap space. He seems committed and we have to few of those guys. He can't blow it up much more at this point anyway.

I say give him a chance. BAD trades... Yes. But the first time I joined a league like this I made some BAD trades. Let's see how he drafts.

Alright guys...I don't have as much of a problem with this trade in particular than I do with other trades and decisions but I just don't trust this guy. He better not be a one offseason and out guy.

I don't think this deal is all that bad. Shane wants to rebuild and cut cap which he does and he gets a pretty good haul in doing so. We can't remove each owner that wants to rebuild or makes trades that we don't agree with. If this was the case we would have to replace about 4-5 owners who are rebuilding but have not made much progress in the last 2-4yrs. Let him learn and make moves that are not that detrimental because he is getting pieces to build around.
PASS

3.29 for Ryan Cook...great trade!
Haha I'm sorry, I guess we'll agree to disagree.

I offered him Beachy, Nolin, Story & Pederson for Price and was told I'd need to throw in Middlebrooks. Then accepts draft picks for Price. go figure

I don't think the 2014/15 picks are a big deal right now. Only the Braves, Marlins, and Angels have picks tied to players in NL RFA, so as long as the picks tied to those bids are not moved I see no issue with it.

I will be shocked if he lasts a full season...I'm sure he'll be like all of those other owners who are crazy active in the offseason and then completely vanishes in June.

Check Red Sox roster lately? Has David Murphy of the Indians listed as a middle infielder...smart kid. Talented roster too if I may say so myself/sarcasm
