The Pirates will receive a compensation pick at the end of the first round of the amateur draft (pick 31) for the loss of Nick Adenhart. The Pirates traded pieces away to get a young stud pitcher. We feel that under the tragic circumstances a compensation pick is the least we could do here.

At this time the pick may not be traded. The Pirates will keep this pick.
