Yeah, we F’d this up royally. He should have both on RLF contracts. Apparently he posted the he renews each at 3 years min. Encarnacion’s last contract was $18m, $20m. If he was on the franchise tag COTS says 3yrs/$60 so $20 per Garcia should be at $3m, $5m prospect franchised.

Were they free drops or reworked contacts to attract new owners? The SS has the same contacts

No. He declared them Restricted Tags. Garcia received no bids and Encarnacion received one illegal bid. This gave him the right to renew them on his terms. He did not have to use real life contract since they were RAT not FT. What we need to focus on is the trade itself. It really sucks we have only three opinions. I hate to say it but unless we get another no vote we have to let it go through and that is going to be very unpopular. I'll see if I can email TRP that have failed to reply.

I say past the trade then. Let’s base it on the fact that neither player has a shelf life(Garcia or Encarnacion) and the Expos/Nationals are rebuilding. I’m fine with it. Personally we need to avoid collusion but I can promise you these 2 guys don’t know anything about each other and the guy getting the lesser end (according to popular opinion) is an Admin in another league... (WCB for Jason and Ron). He’s the Royals.
Let’s pass it

If a player is not bid on for a restricted tag, he can keep them at 400K for 1-3 years. Good deal for him. I’m not a fan of the trade. I guess if you really believe in Matias power then you have something. Abisail was DFA’d last year, and Edwin is old but not much value here for them. I’m on the fence here. How long has Expos been here? Are we confident he stays?

My concern is the Yankees and maybe others pull out.

He’s more active in my other league but with GroupMe it’s understandable . Truth, I know Floyd and talk to him via text more than all of you combined because of that leagues structure. He’ll stay if I want him to and if he doesn’t it’ll only be because we aren’t very active. 🤣

Yes he did. Can't say that I blame him. Would have been nice if we had all the TRP weigh in on the trade in a timely manner. We had three no's and one on the fence. We did not have a majority based on all TRP members. If we all would have voted rather than question contracts we could have done this in the right manner. Instead we screwed it up. A decision had to be made and 5 days in I made it based on all information available at the time. This is supposed to be done in 72 hours.

Dude if you didn’t pass it you could have lost the teams involved in the trade. It’s a dynasty league. Value of players is very bias. Also, Nats better their pick by selling production so that’s an added bonus.
